First Ducati 1199s arrive in the UK

Racing teams get their hands on the first batch

DUCATI'S 1199 Panigale has arrived in the UK, but these models will be destined for the British Superbike grid, not the road.

Millsport Racing and JHP Ducati Coventry have each taken delivery of their Panigale S models and only have 40 days to prepare and test them before the opening round of the BSB season. Both Millsport and JHP will be competing in the Superstock 1000 class in BSB. JHP will be running Leon Morris and Millsport will be running Steve Mercer. Millsport and Mercer are also planning on racing on the roads, including the North West 200.

JHP are also preparing the 1199RS models for Jentin Doodson Motorsport, a British Superbike team. Four 1199RS models are expected to arrive in the UK next week.

Currently, the 1199 Panigale has yet to be homologated by the FIM, who need to see 250 assembled bikes before issuing approval to race in the Superbike class. Following approval, road versions of the Panigale are expected to be arriving in the UK in late March.
