Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service to use 180bhp superbike to promote road safety...

THE Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has unveiled their new initiative to help reduce rider accidents on the island; a Kawasaki ZX-10R sprayed in their colours.

Donated by Jason Griffiths Motorcycles, the Kawasaki superbike will be used to engage with local and visiting riders, promoting road safety at popular motorcycle meeting points over the TT fortnight.

The bike will be ridden by firemen who have experience competing in the TT races and the Manx GP themselves, along with being trained to IAM standards.

Chief Fire Officer Brian Draper said: "They will use their experience, both as motorcycle enthusiasts and as firefighters who have attended serious road traffic collisions, to promote discussion around key road safety issues."
