Enduro Africa: Locals not impressed by behaviour

Participants boozing and riding without helmets, say locals

ENDURO AFRICA has come under fire after numerous complaints about some of the riders' behaviour - some of it levelled at the Royal brothers, William and Harry, who are taking part on the 1000-mile adventure.

Complaints include the princes, their bodyguards and most of the bikers flouting South African laws by riding on public roads with no helmets – in full view of police – and some of the bikers knocking back quarts of beer at a nearby shebeen (drinking bar) instead of helping William and Harry to fix Siyazaka creche.

“If we ride without a helmet, the cops nail us. The guys in the shebeen also did not set a good example. They are meant to be helping young kids and not boozing and then riding their bikes,” said a local.
