Drunken quad biker jailed for eight months

Court dishes out custodial sentence after man admits to putting a child in danger

A DRUNKEN quad bike rider who gave a child a pillion ride while more than three times over the drink drive limit has been jailed.

Paul Forsyth, 24, from Wingate fled from police community support, Durham Crown Court heard. The court also heard Forsyth had been drinking until 4am that morning and was still over the driving limit when tested 12 hours later.

Forsyth admitted putting a child in danger and driving with excess alcohol at Shotton on September 20th this year.

Judge Chris Prince jailed Forsyth for eight months and told him: "It is foreseeable to anyone, including you, that taking the child on the quad bike could have led to its serious injury or even its death."

As well as jailing him, Judge Prince banned Forsyth from driving for 12 months.
