Boris Johnson: "Stop this protest!"

Mayor of London issues threats over Bike Parking Tax gridlock

MAYOR OF LONDON Boris Johnson asked demonstrators to "Stop this protest" after he was caught up in yesterday's weekly 'No to Bike Parking Tax' Wednesday breakfast run demonstration.

It's alleged Johnson, who was cycling through the traffic gridlock caused by the demo, threatened organisers that he would 'stop motorcyclists from using London bus lanes' if demonstrators persisted with their organised weekly protest action.

At present, motorcyclists are allowed in London bus lanes as part of an experimental scheme until July 5th 2010.

The Motorcycle Industry Association is calling on Westminster to make the initiative permanent.
