Biker in his twenties dies near Chippenham

Police appeal for witnesses after biker dies on the A350

CHIPPENHAM Police are appealing for help after a motorcyclist died in a crash on the A350 near Trowbridge yesterday.

The accident happened midway between Steeple Ashton and West Ashton, just after 5pm on Friday 10th November. The Yamaha bike, ridden by a local man in his 20s, collided with a tractor.

The entire stretch of the A350 between the Littleton roundabout in Semington to West Ashton was closed for five hours and traffic was diverted through Trowbridge, causing rush-hour chaos.

Police are appealing for the drivers of two cars being followed by the motorbike just minutes before the crash to come forward. One car was a dark coloured Vauxhall Corsa while the second was a silver saloon Mondeo or Nissan.

Call Pc Williamson at the road policing unit in Chippenham if you can help with the inquiry.
