‘Vampire fanatic’ rides to Dracula’s Castle for Halloween

Friends from London dress as Dracula and Frankenstein on Ural with a coffin sidecar. Don’t know about you, but we’re scared

TWO British motorcyclists marked Halloween by taking a Ural with a coffin sidecar to Dracula’s castle in Transylvania, dressed as Frankenstein and the prince the darkness.

Friends Nick Cunnigham, 47, and Nick Jackson, 50, both of West London, rode the Transfagara?an highway, considered one of Europe’s best biking roads, and visited the 14th Century Bran Castle in Brasov, commonly known as Dracula’s Castle.

Cunningham dressed as Dracula and Jackson, 6’4”, as Frankenstein on the three-day trip.

Cunningham, described as a ‘vampire fanatic’, was a winner of a competition in which motorcyclists submit their ‘bike-related dream’ and Bennetts Insurance fulfils one a month.

According to a Bennetts press release, the trip combined Cunningham’s passion for motorcycles with his ‘fascination with the vampire way-of-life depicted in the Christopher Lee films he watched while growing up in the 70’s’. Has anyone told them it’s not real?

Cunningham, a company director and married father-of-three, said: “It has been brilliant to escape the humdrum of London and to motorcycle into the mystical world of Transylvania. My wife thinks I’m nuts but was only too happy to let me go and live out my dream.”

Judging by the looks on their faces, the locals thought you were nuts too, Nick. You're not nuts, are you?
