Is this the real MV Agusta F4 RC?

Supposed pics of 212bhp, 175kg superbike emerge online

THESE pictures of what appears to be the promised MV Agusta F4 RC (Reparto Corse) have turned up on the internet months after the machine’s existence was revealed to dealers.

The pictures are accompanied by information suggesting the bike makes 212hp (2hp more than on the original slides shown to dealers in October last year) and weighs 175kg dry. However, we have some reservations over the reality of the pics.

While much of the bike looks real, it’s odd to see pillion footpegs on a bike that seems otherwise designed as a single-seater. Particularly given that it doesn’t even have mirrors fitted.

Other elements do look very convincing, though. For instance, the upper and lower air vents on the sides of the fairing are repositioned and larger than those on the stock 2015 F4. And while the paintwork doesn’t match the drawing originally shown to MV dealers last year, it’s identical to a more recent leaked sketch of the machine. The number 37 on the bike’s nose and side presumably refers to the firm’s total number of constructors world titles in all classes.

According to an information sheet that accompanied the pictures, comparing it to its main rivals, the bike’s Italian price will be €36,900.
