First Look: 2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro

All-new big-bore Italian V-twin supermoto gets traction control

THIS IS THE 2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 – a big-bore supermoto unveiled for the first time earlier this week by the Italian manufacturer.

The machine features an all-new 1200cc 90 degree V-twin, expected to produce around 130bhp at 8700rpm and 85lb ft of torque at 7200rpm.

Electronic traction control, shared with the company's RSV4 road bike from next year onwards, will help keep the Dorsoduro's rear tyre in check when all the V-twin's power is unleashed.

An accompanying spec sheet of the 1200 and 750 versions (see attached image) was leaked online earlier this year.
