DUCATI has unveiled the long-rumoured 959 Panigale Corse.
The track and road-ready special edition features a MotoGP-inspired colour scheme and a host of upgraded components over the standard bike.
It shares the 959 Panigale’s Euro4-compliant Superquadro 955cc engine, which makes 150hp at 10,500 rpm, and 75.2lbft of torque at 9,000rpm.
The cast aluminium monocoque chassis, which utilises the Superquadro engine as a structural element and incorporates the airbox, also comes straight from the standard model.
Power is delivered via a Ride-by-Wire throttle, while a Servo-assisted slipper function clutch also features.
The extensive electronics package comprises ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) and Engine Brake Control (EBC), while the riding modes of Race, Sport, Wet give the bike three distinct personalities.
Adjustable titanium-nitride treated Öhlins 43mm NIX30 forks and an adjustable Öhlins TTX36 shock replace the Showa forks and Sachs monoshock of the standard 959 Panigale. This suspension is complemented by an adjustable steering damper, also by Öhlins.
Double titanium Ducati Performance silencers by Akrapovič and a lithium-ion battery both improve performance and contribute to the 2.5kg weight reduction over the 959. In total, the 959 Panigale Corse has a kerb weight of 197.5 kg.
The 959 Panigale Corse is expected in dealerships from February, costing £15,895 – that’s £1,900 more than the standard model.
