Just get out! - Visordown's top five events

IT LOOKS like the Beast from the East (or is it the Pest from the West now?) is set to make a comeback this weekend, with freezing temperatures and snow predicted across the UK.

But if you’re not put off by a bit of bad weather then there’s plenty of biking events on to brighten up your week.

Here are our top five:

What: The Overland and Adventure Bike Day

The Ace Café has been around for 80 years now, and while it may be looking a little sorry for itself, it still hosts some great bike meets.

The Overland and Adventure Bike Day will kick off from 9am on Sunday, featuring a host of intrepid two-wheeled travellers alongside stands and displays, including Globe Busters, The Trail Riders Fellowship, Kaapstadmat Motorcycle Tours, Motofreight, Shippio, James Cargo and Overland Magazine

Special guests include Sam Manicom, Elspeth Beard, Graham Field, Derek Mansfield, Austin Vince and Steph Jeavons.

This edition of the Shropshire’s Classic Show is held in memory of Ron Maund, the show’s founder, who passed away recently.

What: 78th Pioneer Run

Organised by the Sunbeam Motor Cycle Club, the Pioneer Run claims to be the world’s greatest veteran motorcycle run. Hundreds of pre-1915 machines will join the ride from Tattenham Corner, Epsom to Madeira Drive, Brighton.

You can enter on your own classic here for £30 and receive a medal if you finish, or watch the ride from waypoints along the route.

Looking for a new bike on a budget? Head to the motorcycle auction next week and splash your cash on two-wheeled bargains.

More than 100 bikes are set to go under the hammer during the evening event, sold on behalf of dealerships and finance houses across the UK.
