Diagnostic scanner??

Hi guys new to the forum and motorcycles. I would like to start maintening and fixing my motorbike. So I was wondering is there a diagnostic scanner that I could plug into motorbikes to find faults etc. if so what's the best ones and how much is a rough ballpark figure for one?

One cannot purchase a "universal scanner"...with plug and play diagnostic capabilities..... However one could purchase an occiliscope, and develop ones diagnostic skills from there, when read correctly they are very accurate.

Thank you very much

Some bikes (like Kawasaki) use KWP2000 (ISO-14230 similar to older VW group cars), some use their own non ISO standardised protocols (Aprillia/piaggio/Vespa share one protocol, BMW has their own protocol). Think the same can be said for the likes of Triumph and Harley which I believe are OBDII compliant, though nothing in legislation says they have to be.   But it really is hit and miss whether a system not designed for a bike will work.

I have a Honda cbr600rr
