Race fairing respray

Hi,

Hoping someone could help - im looking for someone (pref south london / kent / surrey) who could respray my fairings and tank. Does anyone have any recommendations ?

If not, does anyone know if painting race fairings is a similar process to car respraying ?? (i.e. if a car bodyshop is a suitable alternative)

Im not after anything complicated. Nor am i looking for an amazing finish - just in-expensive and easily repairable when i drop the bike.

Any help welcome.

Thanks

yes and yes, matt black and stickers

Indeed, do it yourself, Halfords do petrol resistant laquer, use it on the tank.

wish i knew that the first time i did my own fairing.......had green paint on my leathers after the fuel cap leaked at full lean.i have a local guy who does a basic spray for decent money now.

Yep, I agree, Halford's spray paint. A lot of people say it's no good. But I did this for my husband, it's halfords spray paint, with lacquer over the top. The petrol resistant paint works well on the tank, they also do petrol resistant lacquer. It lasted well, pretty tough, none of it coming off on leathers or chipping off etc

I just use my local car spray shop ..... will do a cash job, and knock a bit extra off if you advertise his place on your bike.....Like you sqay, doesn't need to be a perfect finish, and may be trashed in the first race anyway !!

OOOpps suprised you didnt say "and may be trashed in the first race or wiped out by a muppet"

But bear in mind they're primers are crap!I was happy enough with my finish but when I took it to a sprayers when I could afford a proper job it all re-acted & bubbled up.NEVER scrimp & strip back past the primer everytime!
