DAY 1: Calais to Pont a Mousson.

The first day on tour is always an interesting time.  The group needs to get used to each others riding style and the day is fairly long.  We try and make things as interesting as we can whilst crossing Northern France.  For the first 86 miles we do use the motorway to get us out of Northern France but then after a short comfort break we are onto ‘D’ roads for the rest of the day.  If there is sufficient time and the weather is good we will stop at the French First World cemetery at Verdun. Our usual first hotel is a very impressive monastery - a really beautiful building set in an unspoiled and authentic French town.

DAY 2: Pont a Mousson to Lake Constance.

For today's ride we will be heading South through the northern part of the Vosges and into Baden Baden.  From there we will take the famous B500 through the Black Forest.  The B500 is a superb road especially if you are on a sports bike or sports tourer – great road surface, sweeping corners, good visibility – I am sure you get the idea!  We will be heading towards the Feldburg which at 4,900ft is the highest mountain in the area. Then it is into Switzerland where we will stop briefly at Schaffhausen to visit the mighty Rheinfall which at over 150 ft wide and 75 ft high is the largest plain waterfall in Europe.  Our evening stop will be by the shore of beautiful LakeConstance.

DAY 3: Lake Constance to Lake Como.

A beautiful and unforgettable day in the Swiss mountains.  We will cross through the middle of the small principality of Liechtenstein before climbing into this part of the Swiss Alps.  Those skiers amongst us will recognise the exclusive resorts of Kloisters and Davos.  The mountains of Gotschnagrat and Madrisa should be clearly visible Then its back into Italy and a gentle ride along the shores of LakeComo before out overnight stay by the shores of this world famous and beautiful lake.

DAY 4: Lake Como (exploration day).

A chill out day by the shores of LakeComo.  The perfect spot to relax and take in the beautiful scenery.  Alternatively, if you fancy jumping on your bike then there are plenty of things to see and do in the immediate area.  In particular you may wish to visit the Moto Guzzi museum located at Mandello del Lario, right on the shore of Lake Como.

DAY 5: Lake Como to Stelvio Pass to Gavia Pass to Lake Garda.

We start the day by riding along the shores of LakeComo before heading back into the Swiss and Italian mountains.  We will pass through the famous town of St Moritz and will have fantastic view of Piz Corvatsch before heading into the StelvioNational Park.  We will travel over the infamous Stelvio pass (9045ft) which many consider to be the finest of all the Alpine passes. The road itself is also a marvel of engineering skill, the huge rises on both s
