France Tour

Hi, I am new to this site and biking. To break myself into it all am planning a trip to Beynac-et-Cazenac. Would be great to get any advice for the journey. Planned stops that am looking at would be Len, Senlis, Orleans, Chateauroux and Limoges. These are all on the main roads which I think will make the trip easy to navigate and as am new to riding would be easier than going onto the smaller country roads. My only worry is what to do if I have any problems with the bike and if it might be too long a journey for a first trip abroad. My bike is a Suzuki gsxr600, any suggestions or advice for the trip would be great, especially if you have done one yourself. Cheers!

hi gixxergirl when are you planning on doing the trip?   I run a small tour down to the Dordogne in May each year split between experienced riders and newer ones with a qualified instructor on hand at all times to lead the group.. more than happy to have you along ...  www.realroads.co.uk

I would suggest that maybe you try going on an oranised tour first (but then of course I would say that as I run www.extramilebiketours.com) but either way organised tour or not, make sure you have european breakdown cover in place. It's not expensive for short trips.

We did our first road trip in 2012. You can read about it in Bulgaria and Back. Available via Amazon. Posibly a bit far for our first trip but we did it and have done one to Rome and Back last year. Book pending on this on.
