Are Road Angels.....

Legal to use in France? Just wandered if anyone knew .

news.motorbiker.org/blogs.nsf/dx/02142006094740MWECBV.htm2 points for radar detectors according to that. Trying to argue the difference between GPS-based and radar detectors to a French cop probably isn't going to get you far though.I've heard they particularly don't like them, even taking the detector, placing it behind a wheel of a car then having the driver reverse over it.As of the moment you can't get done from speed cameras in France anyway so there's really no point.

Radar detectors are illegal in France and the cops will show you no mercy. Code de la Route Article R413-15: Use of an anti radar is a Class 5 offence punishable by 1500 euro fine, 2 points and a 3 year ban. Both the radar device and the vehicle in which it is being carried may be subject to seizure.

I thought as much...I'll leave it at home,thanks .

That might be true of the fixed detectors, but they all come with a warning sign a couple of hundred meters before them anyway. However, you can still be done by the mobile ones, as they often radio ahead to the other flics who then stop you. They have heavy on the spot fines in France for many offences.Don't forget that on a peage, you have no escape. They just wait at the next toll booth.

iirc, the road angel is gps based, so isn't goijng to be any use for mobile traps.

And they calculate the average speed based on the time at the last one.........
