Where are the bike meets near you?

I have traditionally avoided bike meets, so I don't really know where many are.

The few I have been to are Devils bridge (once a year on the Easter tour) Box Hill (once to meet up with some VDers) White Swan, Gt Yarmouth (never really stopped there but used to go past it all the time when I lived in Lowestoft) Ponderosa at the Horseshoe pass (every time I go to wales pretty much) and well, that's about it.

So come on, where are the ones near you?
Tell me a bit about them and what they have to offer.

Ta.

We have one at the Folly pub near Padbury. A nice relaxed atmosphere and none of the usual poseurs.Never more than about 30 -40 bikes. I hate the big meets, as it seems so important just to be there and be seen

I are be spending the summer frequenting;Rivington Barn Saturday/Sunday. (cracking pastries and occasional vans filled with useful 'goods')Devils Bridge, still no cars allowed on a Sunday? (...err....skinny dipping, followed immediately by impending death)Knott End to Glasson Dock, Wednesday night (in season)St Annes, Monday nights (not much really)

Quite, I'd rather be out on my bike riding it.But people do seem to like visiting these places, so if I can plan a few into rideouts I will.

High Beech is just up the road from me, but i rarely go - just a bunch of blokes looking at bikes & supping tea - too much mud for stunting

LOL aint that the truth?I have never been up there when there wasn't at least one bike there.

I forgot Sammy Millers motorcycle museum at New Milton..Nice sarnies and a good museum to walk around...the old man himself sometimes joins you to give the spiel which is nice

doh!! sorry Wrotham in Kent. Basically its the local services near the M26/A20 junction. Will sort out a multimap link now...

Isn't there a Honda garage somewhere near there? I chap I used to work with, who lived in Rainham used to go on about the Oakdene. Apparently they do a very good fry up

What do you mean by meet? A place where bikers tend to gather or an actual organised meet run by someone?A Car park in Largs is the only one i really know. Not a set night though, just any sunny night in summer. Tends to be busier on Sundays though. Theres a wee coffee kiosk there and quite a few regulars.Been a few times but i prefer going a run.Theres also a touring club which meets in Irvine every 1st/3rd wednesday. Coffee tea and biscuits. They organise runs and competitions. Pretty good. I go to that if im not working.

Same as Cheshire Cat but with the addition of Big D's in Todmorden. Fantastic place with cheap food and a great atmosphere. And lots of nice roads nearby. Car park is for bikes only. It's the sort of place you would dream of if you were designing a purpose built bikers meeting placeClick on links in the page.www.big-ds.co.uk/Note the 12 foot alien on the car made from engine parts!

Maybe there are lots, but they just don't tell me.

www.vicbikerpub.co.uk/ in Coalville, Leicestershire has a good turnout, especially on Thursday nights. It comes across as a bit "tassels and cruisers" on the website, but there's normally everything from choppers to Fireblades there. Burgers and tea available from a van in the car park.Matlock Bath in Derbyshire (you must know of this one?), especially Sundays. 100's of bikes in nice weather, lots of chip shops and amusement arcades. The town is like a small seaside resort about as far from the coast as it's possible to getmaps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q=matlock+bath&ie=UTF8&ll=53.141004,-1.562119&spn=0.182052,0.466919&z=11&iwloc=addr&om=1Ashby Folville, Leicestershire - vintage car meet monthly (sorry, can't remember the dates). A cracking night where the whole village is swamped with absolutely anything and everything from traction engines to Ferraris, from 1920's BSAs to '07 Hayabusas. Some really nice roads around the area as well. maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q=ashby+folville&ie=UTF8&ll=52.725065,-0.955811&spn=0.18381,0.466919&z=11&iwloc=addr&om=1

Matlock Bath in Derbyshire (you must know of this one?)

I know of most of them, just not where they are/what they are like.I know Matlock Bath from years of hill walkling/mountian biking in the Peak District. Always avoid it on the bike tho.

Harleys or Foxes diner - gets called bothmonday nights and sundays during the summeron the A4074 near Dorchester between Reading and OxfordGood bits - some nice roads near therebad bits - looooonnnng wait for food, some dickhead on a gixxer who spends all eve doing stand up wheelies thus attracting the old billCrust

Hartside cafe, Alston. Kielder Visitor Centre, Kielder Reservoir. Rothbury, Northumberland.A map? No chance, I've only just got the hang of posting photos.

www.squires-cafe.co.uk/ or Devils Bridge although i've not had the bottle to jump off it yet

Paignton, South Devon right through the summer - all details here:www.bmad.co.uk/index.phpAdded bonuses include lots of skimpily dressed tourist girlies strolling along the seafront looking at the bikes. Also you have to ride the last 30 miles to get there through the most beautiful part of the UK

Abergavenny, Saturday Morning and Sunday too I think. Happened on it by accident once.

Willinghamwoods on the A631 between Market Rasen and LouthPopular bike meet every weekend and Wednesday nights during the summer. Ideally situated for some good roads in the centre of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Beware of very high police presence during the summer on roads leading into and out of Market Rasen. Not much to offer food wise unless you like expensive grease burgers and weak tea.

a few within easy reachCat & Fiddle - Between Macclesfield and BuxtonPonderosa - Horseshoe Pass Llangollen Nth WalesMatlock Bath - err... Matlock BathLion Tap - South WirralCafe (can't remeber the name) Prees Heath Whitchurchthen those that are a bit further but visited at timesSouthport sea frontDevil'sRiviHartsideCrossgates mid Wales

Sunny Hunny is the only one I can think of. Sunday poseurs - race reps and cruisers. Rubbish place for a meet really - it's a desperate English Seaside place.
