Having rolled along the tarmac, various vehicles (not witnesses as such) had to stop to avoid debris, me etc. The first one there phoned for police and ambulance....

The ambulance came and I signed a bit of paper to say that I was ok...
The other driver (BT - blind tw@t) "I'm sorry - I didn't see you" repeated to SWMBO - " I'm sorry, it was my fault I just didn't see him"
I DIDN'T GET IT IN WRITING!!! - probly cos I wasn't thinking all that clearly.
Then plod (X 2) arrives and does the usual - breath test for both of us, and then takes statements. So in my stupour, I presume that it is all cut and dried, and I can sleep easy.

Rang plod on Sunday morning - asked for an overview of BT's statement - was told that he said he had looked left and right, seen no traffic, so pulled out. Therefore its his word against mine, and the insurance co will have to determine blame.

Ehhhhhhhh??? I say he didn't see me, he says he didn't see me. I was on a major road, he pulled out in front of me??? So I guess either I am now officially invisible or else I can clear 500 yards in the 3 seconds or so that it might have taken the van to pull out in front of me. Well - I can see me in the mirror, so I guess SVs can officially do somewhere between 270 and 350 mph - read this and weep all ye Gixxer / R1 / Blade jockeys!

Mad luck, Dont suppose there were any witnesses?

what the feck, if the police can't figure that one out there is no hope How can it be your word against his, you say he pulled out the only other options are you were doing in excess of 250 mph so the guy didn't stand a chance or you were camoflagued as tarmac then lept out & rammed him.You need some witnesses wasn't Bod on the other side of the road at time??

Bastids. If they can't work this one out its no wonder so many crimes go unsolved.

Bunch or ARSE m8 ...

If I'm reading this right, he said in his statement that he didn't see you. It was a straight road, right? And he says he didn't see you? Under the circumstances, that's gotta be a clear admission of liability, don't you think?

Not if I was invisible at the time - or travelling in excess of 270 mph.

Invisible? Nope. I've definitely seen you. I may wish you were invisible, but... 270mph? This is an SV we're talking about? As has already been said, even the police should be able to figure this one out!

Having had the same thing happen to me........ If there are no injuries then the police leave it to the Insurance to sort out unless there is a clear case of erratic driving. In my case I ended up in hospital, the police investigated and decided that they could not establish any blame. So they left it to the insurance companies to sort out. What happened was stretch of 3 lane road 2 my side traffic on inside lane was stationary.Guy waiting to pull out from road on right Van driver waves him out.I was level with the back of the van when the guy pulls out. 18 ft to stop in .................CRUNCH broke my cheekbone 2 inches lower and it would have been my neck.

sounds like I should have gone for a ride in the ambulance then.

Lancs... some tit hit me on a roundabout cage into cage. First thing he said as he got out of his car was "oops sorry mate"I made it VERY CLEAR if you know what I mean that he'd said this, and even though my insurance co thought I might only get away with knock for knock I got full payment for the repairs and kept my NCB.He has still said in his statement that he didn't see you. Albeit in not quite so much of a "sorry guv it's my fault" way. But it's still an admission of liablility, innit. He's turning out, minor into major, sees no traffic , pulls out and hits you. Can't really be anyone elses fault, can it. Just cos he didn't see any other traffic doesn't mean it wasn't there

I saw the whole thing from the air in my Tornado.Van pulled out and then this bike came from nowhere, we clocked it at over 380 MPH....I say lets kerb the power on these new machines, the poor van driver didnt stand a chance.
