first bike memories (and other random rubbish)

ignoring the FS1E and MB5 I had when i was 16, my first bike was a red MK1 RD125LC.
did my first wheelie (on the road) on it, first proper crash (hospital visit), first long journey, etc
so now I quite fancy another one, well I actually would like to find the exact one I used to own.
I've done the usual check on the DVLA website and it was last taxed a few years ago so it might still be out there.

anyway enough of my ramblings, what was your first (>50cc) motorbike and would you want it back again?

My first experience of 50cc plus bikes came at about the age of 15, in the form of one of these.. Even by today's standards, it felt like one of the most manic bikes that I have ever ridden It was quickly followed by one of these. Just as manic and made a lot more noise Things then slowed down I got hold of one of these..My first 50cc plus road bike and the bike that I took my test on, was one of these..I suddenly feel very old!!!!! .

Triumph Tiger Cub. Quite a stylish little bike but not very robust. I wouldn't mind a Sports Cub but they go for silly money now. I wouldn't want my old one back, it was ten years old when I got rid of it and I had caned it to death for a year. Bloke I sold it to didn't check the oil and the big end went after two or three weeks. (It used to drink the stuff). Being a kind person, he bought the parts and I rebuilt it for him. Tiger Cub big ends were made of white chocolate.

My first road bike was almost like EddieJs 'sept mine was a Blue GT185 with electric start. 85 MPH laying flat on the tank, lucky to see 60 in a headwind. Still i'd like it back today.Chris

I love those radial fin cylinder heads, bet they are a bugger to cast though, always made the vertical fin cylinderheads look a bit cheap IMO.

I had a white GT185 - I hope I never see it again

first road going 2t was a twin shock dt 50 yam with wait for it...a white furry seat(i cut a rug up tp make it) best 2t...a 200 yamasaki(tz250 with a set of kx100 barrels on )oh and it was a rev cyl..revvvvvvved to the moon and back worst 2t...spondon 200(rd 200 based racer)a gallon of petrol and another crank please fabio:smoke:

My 1st road going bike was a TS50ER. Then a RD125LC MKII, then a 350LC. That was 18 years ago and I've never changed it for anything else.My 1st bike was a Kawasaki KM90 (off road) and I managed recently to get this to restore. It's a year earlier but basically exactly the same with a different name (MC1). TrevorElliott, what sort of kawasaki is yours?

I had an Honda MBX125 (like in the pics) beautiful bike, went well once fitted with the obligatory micron pipe and K&N filter 90mph easy.Looked tons better than all the RD125's my mates had at the time.I had it 5 days, then on 26th August 1986 a car pulled out on me and killed it, but bought it back off the insurance and it lived again, passed my test on it and because it was a smart looking bike, sold it on the very day i passed my test.So if B576 SNE is still out there, thanks.

My first bike was a Honda MT50 (with a big bore kit and exhaust) A TDR125A Yamaha DT175MXAnother DT175MXThe TDR and 1 of the DT's were cheap non-runnering project bikes which I fixed and sold on. The MT was a great would go anywhere & it just kept on running despite the thrashing that thing got.And now a TS50X for the road

s'alright, I've got a rough idea what you'll be doing with the proceeds of the sale............

my first bike memory was with my boyfriend. i wanted to do a wheelie so bad and he just showed me how. i popped the cluch and gave it some gas and flipped us backwords. it was so funnny and ill never forget the look on his face,im still trying to work on my wheelies and im getting better and better but ill never forget that da

My first classic 50 was a Honda express what i had on the fields at the age of 15, i chopped the exhaust of it and did a little weight reduction and i could get 35mph out of her, haha good times!

Then i turned 16 and my dad bought me a derbi senda r extreme which was tweeked in the garage for a few month before i did my CBT and that would do 65 mph.

Lee

My first real bike after a Honda SS 50 was a Honda CB 250 G5 JCS706N in green.
