Any retro speedway fans?

Know nothing about it myself but watch the Aces up here in Manchester, saw this in their shop last night and its a blast to read.

It looks back at the 70's and 80's speedway races and tbh it looks like it was just as good back then, there's pictures in the current issue of a load of speedway guys doing stunts in 1983 that modern "stunt crewz" claim to have invented.

There's also Vintage speedway mag, didnt pick it up myself as id already bought speedway star, skid and backtrack but ill deffo be picking it up next time i see it.

It doesnt look like the bikes have changed much since the 70's, what are the differences between then and now? which teams where the dogs bollocks back then? anyone know anything about classic speedway?

They laid the engine down at an angle & stuck that stupid little mudflap on the back. That about covers all the advances in Speedway over the past 40 years...I used to go to Foxhall Heath in the 60's & Plough Lane in the late 70's & early 80's.

lol i lived a few miles from foxhall stadium and used to visit a bit, could hear it on a summers eve, having a bit of a fresurgeance i believe, brother went to stocks there last week
