[For Sale] Transit Van

I'm looking for something bigger, so need to get rid of my trusty Trannie. It's an L reg, 2.5L diesel, in very good condition. Ply lined, with space for two bikes and loads of luggage. about 5 months tax, and about 4 months MOT left on it. A very good runner, and dependable.

It also comes with about 5 months TPFT insurance included worth around £300

£1500.

Reply to this post, or PM me with any questions, or for any further details.

Not really mate, sorry. I'm after a van already converted for touring. Thanks anyway.

Ahhh well perhaps it may be more up your streetI imagine you want something newer though

Thanks for the picture. It actually looks pretty good. I'm looking to spend about 3k on a newer one though.Out of curiousity, what's it like inside?

How does the free balance of insurance work then?I paid £1500 for my lwb hi top Transit in August - so Trumps is asking about the right money.

Scoobs, I got my insurance through a company in London, who insure vans which are used for touring around europe and the like, normally for the likes of Back packers and traverllers. I couldn't believe the price i got it for, or the fully comp price. I can have anyone added to the insurance, so if someone buys it, all i have to do is add thier name, and they are covered. If you want the name of the company, drop me a PM. The only rule i have seen, is that all drivers must be over 24.

I wish that was a problem sadly it isn't.I got my (commercial) insurance for £500 fully comp, but had to blag I was a tradesman - not a private policy etc.

Its got a sort of mezzanine floor with loading rings and carpet on the sides and roof. It has a roof light as well so is light and airy inside. It was a wheelchair accesable vehicle so was coach built to a high standard. It also still has the tail liftI will probably sell it as i have been looking at newer sprinters today and i think i'm going to get one.

I might know 2 people that want both your vans! My Father-in-law is thinking iof building a camper. I think he is looking for quite a late van though? Can you let me have any details, year, price, mot, condition photos etc etc of teh Merc.Trumps got any piccies of yer van? ANy details you can give me I'll pass on to a guy here who is after a van for his quads. But I think he wanted a LWB? Is yours a LWB?Oh and where abouts in the country are these vans?cheersDave

My Merc van is a 1990 H reg with 140k on the clock. VGC for year compared to other vans of this age but it has been reprayed from the original red.It has a towbar with electrics and a decent stereo and speakers.I think there is mot until April or May and tax until August 03. Thing is it has a tail lift which bumps the price up quite a bit and i have a few mates who asked me to contact them in the event that i sell it as you can easily put bikes in by yourself.I would be looking for £1500ovno

ok Tiepin, here's the gist for ya. It's a L reg 2.5 D. LWB transit van. 100k miles on the clock. Ply lined. Good condition, excellent runner. Used to belong to LawmanMX, so he can vouch for it. About 4 months tax and mot. burgundy red. Radio, tow bar. ventalation in the roof.At the moment, it's with me in Cambridge. lookin after me bike. I dont have any pictures as yet Dave, but i'll try get some this weekend if us guys meet at the white Hart. It's not LWB, but it's still very spacious.

Thanks. I'll post the details on to him. Whats the interior like? You said its carpeted in teh back. Does it have any seats or anything in there, or is it just empty?cheersDave

erm Trumps, wouldn't there be a slight problemette in that if the person who bought your van and benefited from your kind insurance offer had an accident, that would be YOUR no claims down the drain?

I'm not sure really.

I'd have to check, but I would assume that the person buying it, and having thier name added to the list, would ensure that whoever was driving the vehicle at a time of accident, they would be responsible.Either way, they insurance is available in the price, if wanted.

Its carpeted on the roof and sides and has rails for seats inside but the seat have been removed for use as a van.TBH if he is looking for a base as a camper he would be better off with a 410 imo as its that little bit bigger

Cheers I'll pass it on. It is a diesel though? But you are probably right about size as I know he went to see on of those large LDV vans with the roller shutters on. They're pretty big vans I think.Trumps. Non starter. The guy here who wanted one apparently doesnt work here anymore, I just found out. But hes mate rang him at home for me. It was a LWB and a twin wheel one he wanted. Also even if yours was one, its too late as hes already bought one. Ah well nothing ventured, nothing gained cheers

Yes mine is a diesel and does about 25mpg on average
