A 2011 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade that was owned by the Grisini MotoGP team and ridden by Marco Simoncelli is to be sold.

The bike, in non-roadworthy, track-only condition, is said to have been used by the late Simoncelli for a private test in 2011, although the location of the test is not confirmed. The bike was then used by Michele Pirro for a private test at Vallelunga and again by Scott Redding in 2014 for a private test at Jerez.

Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP (2020) Review | Sound Engine | Visordown.com

The bike has been heavily modified for track use and features a host of go-faster parts and details. The bodywork is specifically designed and built for track use, as you’d expect, there are lashings of carbon fibre across the whole bike, including a trick-looking seat unit and subframe arrangement. The machine also wears slinky adjustable track rear-sets and some lightweight forged wheels. And the price for this history and hardware...? A cool €48,000!

There is no mention of what has been done mechanically to the engine, although it is safe to assume a certain amount of fettling has gone on.

The bike is un-registered in its current form and comes with no registration plate. It does though come with paperwork from the Grisini team confirming the bike’s provenance.

The bike is on display at the Route da Sogno showroom, click the link below to be taken to the advert, and once you’re done, take a look at some of the other road and race bikes they have for sale.

It’s positively drool-worthy!
