Has Hamilton confirmed Yamaha MotoGP spill?

He’s reported to have gone on record stating he did have ‘one little spin’ in an interview

Rossi Ham swap

LEWIS Hamilton is reported to have confirmed he did have a ‘spill’ while riding Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha MotoGP machine, after the two swapped rides for a promotional event at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia.

The news follows days of speculation in the wake of the event, partly stirred by the lack of any social media coverage from either party in what is a social media-driven industry and era. And it wasn’t just Hamilton that came to grief aboard the notoriously tricky to ride MotoGP, Rossi is also reported to have had three spins in the Mercedes W08 F1 machine.

GPFans.com reports that Hamilton admitted the incident with F1 broadcaster, Sky Sports in the days following the event.

“The bike is so hard to ride," Hamilton said. “Obviously I had that one little spin with it but otherwise brought it back in one piece.

“I'm step by step learning but it's a very, very steep learning curve.

“Honestly, this has been the best year. I think this has just topped it off. I wasn't expecting to get to December and have this kind of high.

“I'm looking forward to seeing family and spending Christmas with everyone."

While the news seems to be from a legitimate source, we can't at this point find any other evidence to confirm the claims.

More details as we have them.
