MV Agusta and Akrapovič sign industrial partnership

MV AGUSTA and Akrapovič have teamed up in 2020 after signing an industrial partnership to exclusively design and manufacture exhaust systems for the Italian firm’s models.

A sports bike without a lovely sounding exhaust system is a bit like a race track without corners – it just seems a bit pointless. Although with motorcycling seemingly in the spotlight globally for what non-bikers are calling ‘motorcycle noise pollution’, pushing the limits is not really the right way to go.

One of the best ways to circumnavigate the noise police is to take the design and manufacture of your bikes exhaust system out of the hands of the aftermarket suppliers, placing it with a more reliable company.

MV Agusta has done just this, as they are teaming up with world-renowned exhaust manufacturer Akrapovič and will be entrusting the Slovenian firm with creating OEM exhaust systems for the Varese manufacturers bikes.

Timur Sardarov, CEO of MV Agusta, said:

“Sound is part of the MV Agusta experience. It is a key element to its style, and we pay a lot of attention to it. Our three and four cylinders models have quite unique personalities and we’ve always worked towards matching them with hair-raising sound.

“But this partnership goes well beyond the look and sound, it is really about leading-edge technology, performance and uncompromising quality. MV Agusta and Akrapovič have a very similar approach to industrial excellence, accepting nothing but the best. I welcome this partnership as a natural alliance between like-minded leaders in their own field, which will bring about many synergies and even better products for the enjoyment of motorcycle enthusiasts around the world.”

There is currently no clue as to which models will be getting the Akrapovic treatment just yet, although it’s safe to assume the firm’s flagship models, Brutale 1000, 800 and Superveloce will be among some of the first models to get the fruity exhaust treatment!
