KTM is ushering in a new model this evening, as the limited edition KTM 890 Adventure R Rally makes its bow.
With only 500 units being made of the new machine – and after only two minutes they were already down to 478! – the 890 Adventure R Rally is definitely not your run of the mill adventure machine.
As you’d expect, the bike is dripping with top-spec kit, with WP chucking its Pro Components at the bike and providing it with 270mm of travel. Other items include the titanium Akrapovic Silencer (claimed to be 35% lighter than stock), Rally-spec footpegs, carbon fiber tank protection, and KTM Factory Racing inspired color-scheme - exclusive to this model.
The bike also comes with a quickshifter as standard, an enduro-style flat seat that sits at 910mm, and narrower wheel rims.

The engine is the 889 cc mill lifted from the 890 Duke R and then fettled for a life spent on the dirt. It’s claimed to be churning out 105 hp and 73lb-ft, and with the bike’s total weight coming in at under 200 kgs, it’s likely to be a rocketship of an adventure bike. Add to that the race-spec componentry and the already very capable 790 Adventure as the starting point... all of a sudden the middleweight adventure sector just got a bit exciting!
