New Fireblade prices revealed

PRICES for the new Honda Fireblade range have been revealed ahead of the model’s press launch this weekend.

The base model will cost £15,225 on the road while the SP version will be £19,125.

The cost of the top-spec SP2 version (pictured) has not yet been confirmed but leaked prices on US dealer websites indicate it will be around £22,000.

Yamaha's YZF-R1 starts at £15,599 while the high-spec R1M is £19,399.

The Firedblade SP2 could be set to become the most expensive machine in its class, with Kawasaki’s ZX-10RR Performance edition coming in at £16,949.

It's a significant step up from the 2016 Blade, which can still be picked up with a list price of £12,799 for the base edition or £14,499 for the SP.

The price of the 2017 Suzuki GSX-R1000 has yet to be confirmed and BMW’s HP4 Race could change everything when it arrives later this year.

The Fireblade press launch is at the Portimao circuit in Portugal this weekend, so we’ll be able to tell you soon whether it’s worth the slightly higher than expected price with a full review and video review.
