THE biggest news story for Suzuki at the EICMA show in Italy last year was the unveiling of the new Suzuki V-Strom 1050. With little in the way of new bikes for a couple of years now, the V-Strom marked the biggest new machine since the introduction of the new GSX-R1000 in 2017.

In a bid to help the new machine hit the road, err rolling, Suzuki has barely let the dust of the launch settle before announcing a selection of accessory packages to help riders get the most out the heavily revised adventure machine.

The Explore pack equips the DR-Z-inspired V-Strom 1050XT with full aluminium luggage, engine crash bars, LED fog lamps, aluminium bash plate, and heated grips. The kit would be ideally suited to those looking to cover big miles on any terrain. The Explore pack comes with an RRP of £2,499, which means a saving of £626 over the cost of the individual items.

The Tour pack comprises full aluminium luggage and costs £1,299, meaning a saving of £316. If you’re looking for the space and versatility that comes from having such spacious luggage but don’t require the rugged protection of the Explore package, this might be the bike for you.

Both the above-mentioned packages are available on the V-Strom 1050 XT and V-Strom 1050 machines.

As adventure bikes become more and more of a feature in the world’s congested cities, Suzuki has also released a City pack that combines a 55-litre top box and centre stand for £699, saving £147 in the process. This set-up would be ideal for slipping between the banks of stationary traffic at the lights. This option is available on the V-Strom 1050 only and not the XT version of the bike.

Suzuki GB’s national motorcycle marketing manager, Ian Bland, said:

“We know a lot of owners want to add a personal touch or tailor their V-Strom to their specific needs, and by offering three different accessory packs that is now not only easier but also more affordable, too. The packs can also be fitted at the point of sale, meaning they can be included in any finance deal and benefit from the same three-year warranty we offer across our range.”
