THE 2020 running of the annual Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) is having to adapt with a focus on solo or small group rides and social media updates.
With COVID-19 still causing events across the globe to be thrown into upheaval, the annual DGR charity ride-out is having to adapt while still maintaining a presence on the global motorcycle calendar.

The event will still take place on 27th September, although with mass gatherings and large groups of people still against government social distancing guidelines, the rides will either have to be taken solo or in small groups.
Participation into the ride is free as before, but since it is a charity event, there is no doubt that each participant plays their part by way of a donation. The DGR team are also asking riders to help spread awareness of the event by tagging themselves on social media, accompanied by a picture of them and their steed while out on the ride.
Like every year before, there will be awards for the most generous participants or who raise the most through charitable donations on websites such as JustGiving. The ride supports the Movember foundation that is focussed on supporting men’s health charities.
Among the prizes are four Triumph models from the Modern Classic range, three of which are earmarked for the major fund-raisers across the globe and one to the winner of the Gentlefolk Competition, the winner of that is picked at random.
