Krummeancher quits MV Agusta amid allegations and fears for safety

Randy Krummenacher quits MV Agusta after accusing it of serious technical irregularities... MV Agusta responds by saying it is instructing its lawyers against him

Randy Krummenacher - MV Agusta

Defending WorldSSP champion Randy Krummenacher has announced he is quitting the MV Agusta Reparto Corse team with immediate effect, saying he is doing so to preserve his ‘moral and professional integrity’,

The Swiss rider clinched the 2019 WorldSSP title with BARDAHL Evan Bros. Yamaha but a fall out with that team – in which he claimed his R6 was being held back to allow team-mate Federico Caricasulo a better chance of winning – led to him swapping to MV Agusta for 2020.

After failing to finish the opening round in Australia when he crashed at the first corner, Krummenacher has maintained a low profile since in the run up to the season restart in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, he has now confirmed he has quit the team in a blaze of controversy, suggesting breach of contracts and a concern for his safety

Full press release issued by Krummenacher below:

Randy Krummenacher confirms his intention to dissolve his contract with MVRC srl, (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) due to serious breaches on the part of the company that compromise both the rider‘s performance as well as his professionalism, reputation and personal integrity.

Krummenacher has sent the company formal notification, in which all the reasons leading to his decision are clearly outlined.

Krummenacher has also moved to inform the competent bodies, responsible for verifying any technical
irregularities.

The Supersport 600 World Championship title holder has reached this difficult decision after having carefully evaluated the risks involved in dissolving the agreement, on the one hand, and the values for which he has always stood, professionally and personally-speaking, on the other.

“This is not a pleasant situation and I never wanted any of this. The aim was to fight for the world title once more but unfortunately, the foundations needed to move ahead with the project with MV Agusta Reparto Corse are not there. I have had to take this decision in order to preserve my moral and professional integrity, as well as my safety.

“Throughout my career, I have always tried to do the right thing, giving it my all in any situation, even the most challenging. But this time there was only one decision I could make. I cannot say more about my motives at this time, but further details will be communicated in due course.”

In response, MV Agusta has struck right back and has vowed to instruct its lawyers against Krummenacher for his comments.

“MVRC Srl, which participates in the Supersport World Championship under the MV Agusta Reparto Corse trademark, has taken note of the unilateral statement issued by Mr. Krummenacher. The allegations made by Mr. Krummenacher against MVRC are unfounded. For this reason, MCRV has instructed its lawyers to protect its interests, image and reputation gravely damaged by the Mr. Krummenacher’s initiatives.”
