Sammy Miller at 86 is an inspiration to all motorcyclists

Sammy Miller has released a video showing how he keeps his eye in at 86-years-young while playing around on his BSA classic trials machine

AFTER we saw Graham Jarvis showing how not to train on a motorcycle during the lockdown, road racing, and trials legend, Sammy Miller MBE shows us all how it should be done!

The video, posted by the Sammy Miller Museum, shows the 86-year-old motorcycle ace out having a play on his BSA classic trials machine during the COVID-19.

The video goes some way to proving that age really is just a number, as he deftly leads his BSA C15 along a tricky practice section located at the Sammy Miller Museum.

Stopping to speak to the camera, he said:

“I try to get out, maybe ten minutes a day, [to] keep fit, keep on the pace, keep my hand in, keep my eye in.”

While Sammy may be the most famous of all the trails riders, winning over 1,300 competitive trials events, he was also a talented road racing. Taming legendary bikes like the NSU (dustbin fairing) at events like the North West 200 and the Ariel at the Isle of Man TT.

After Miller became bemused with the UK motorcycle industry and its ruling accountants; he was approached by Bultaco to help develop the Sherpa into a trials machine. That bike became the Sherpa T a trials bike that changed the face of competitive trials riding.

Today, Sammy helps to run the Sammy Miller Museum in Hampshire, a place that clearly helps to keep him you in mind, body, and soul.

Bravo sir!
