WITH much of the beginning of the 2020 riding season being thwarted by the spread of COVID-19, it’s fair to say that for many, getting back on a motorcycle track day was a top priority.

Indeed, it seems that those with the track riding bug were more eager than most to get back to their hobby, as motorcycle track day companies have seen a massive spike in sales already this year.

TrackDays.co.uk claims that bookings for its services are up by a whopping 49% for June compared to 12 months ago.

The increase in bookings for track time doesn’t look like slowing down either, as they also claim that many of its events for July are also booked up.

Dan Jones, operations manager at TrackDays.co.uk, said:

“Each event can take between 90 and 120 bikes and we’ve got almost 40 events in July alone, so you can see just how busy it is.

“The huge surge in bookings shows how keen our customers are to get back on the track following months of lockdown.

“I’ve no doubt that the summer months overall will be very busy as riders look to make up for the lost track time and get some much-needed practice, so my advice is to book early to secure a space.”

With many members of the public, local services, and companies getting back to the ‘new normal’, the roads are also looking increasingly busy, making the option of blowing away the cobwebs on a motorcycle track day an ever more enticing proposition.

While track days are back, they haven’t avoided COVID-19 safety considerations. New measures are now in place to help stem the spread of COVID-19, although, with careful planning, it should not affect your day in any way.
