CF Moto’s first foray into the world of adventure bikes looks to be taking shape nicely after their 800cc machine was spotted out pre-production testing.
Powered by KTM’s parallel twin-cylinder engine, the machine boasts USD forks, and what looks like a monocoque fuel tank and seat unit. The collaboration between KTM and CF Moto is hardly a surprise, the two parties have been in an industrial agreement since late 2017. As a result of this agreement, CF Moto has been manufacturing KTM’s engines in China and using them in their own concept bikes like the V.02 NK concept.
While it’s clear that the CF Moto adventure bike is nearing completion, we still have no concrete information regarding the machine, although it is safe to assume it is the 790cc parallel twin-cylinder engine from the 790 Duke and not the latest – soon to be launched – 890cc unit.
Once launched, the CF Moto will be diving into one of the most competitive and fast-moving segments of the motorcycle market, with the mid-weight adventure scene bolstering new bike sales in the UK and abroad. It’ll be going toe-to-toe with the likes of the Yamaha Ténéré 700, KTM’s own 790 Adventure and Suzuki’s venerable V-Strom 650. Whether or not the CF Moto, as a relatively unknown brand in the UK and Europe, will appeal to buyers over the mainstream competition remains to be seen.
the new machine is the first in a range of bikes from CF Moto that is aimed at pulling the brand into the mainstream view of motorcyclists. The adventure bike at the top of the page will be joined in the range by a trio of nakeds, built around the ethos of the MT07, having a cafe racer, sportsbike and naked variants all using the same frame and engine configuration.
