Hear her sing… Jonathan Rea unleashes the rev-happy Kawasaki ZX-25R

The rev-tastic Kawasaki ZX-25R sings sweetly as WorldSBK champion Jonathan Rea unleashes her on the Jerez circuit in Spain

Kawasaki ZX-25R

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been pining for the all-new Kawasaki ZX-25R, the revvy four-pot that will be screaming its way into Asian markets very soon.

With a 250cc four-cylinder engine taking its redline all the way past 17,000rpm, the new Kawasaki ZX-25R harks back to the age of grey imported small capacity sportsbikes of the 80s and 90s.

Since we won’t be getting this model on European shores any time soon, we’re having to make do with audio-visual entertainment to satisfy our desires and thankfully Kawasaki Indonesia has been more than happy to comply with a number of teaser videos showing us exactly what we’re missing.

The latest is a niftily edited video using drone and gyroscope footage which shows the ZX-25R in its natural habitat on the race track with none other than Kawasaki talisman Jonathan Rea on riding duties getting his knee down and tickling the rev limiter.

Though the ZX-25R isn’t coming to Europe, the five-time WorldSBK champion has been having some fun around the Spanish Jerez circuit to show what it can do.

The only in-line four-cylinder model in the 250cc class, the video also provides some more specs, claiming to have ‘WorldSBK chassis design thinking’ together with its electronic throttle valves and a quick-shifter.

Either way, it looks and sounds like a riot to ride on a closed circuit… and it just makes us want it more!

The video says ‘headphones on’ but we think you should unplug them, turn the volume up and enjoy some sweet motorcycle music…
