Turn your Yamaha Fazer FZS600 into a retro café racer

Café Racer Kits are giving you the chance to turn your Yamaha Fazer into a retro-styled café racer

Yamaha Fazer 600 Cafe Racer Kits

UK-BASED company Café Racer Kits (CRK) are now offering bolt-on kits that transform any stock Yamaha Fazer FZS600 into a retro-styled café racer.

The company, which already makes kits for the Triumph 750-900 triples, Honda CX500 and CB250N, has built the café racer setup for the Yamaha to be it’s simplest and easiest to fit kit to date.

The equipment comprises of a new, single-seat tail unit, front fairing and screen, new footpegs, front and rear mudguards, and low and swept-back clip-on handlebars. While the whole kit is said to be their easiest to fit product to date, it will still require some mechanical knowhow to complete the bike, with the existing bike’s subframe needing some trimming and tidying up to accept the new seat unit. The new seat does though come with some mounting brackets that fix the seat onto the existing mounting points on the frame – doing away with the need for a welding machine if you wish to.

The panels for the bike all come in clearcoat ready for painting in whatever colour scheme you like – although personally we think the yellow and black ‘Speedblock’ of Kenny Robert’s as used on the YZF500 GP bike would look the sweetest!

In standard trim the venerable old Fazer will produce just under 100bhp but is above all else, a solid handling, easy to ride and reliable old workhorse. Why not treat your aging commuter to a bit of a refresh during the COVID-19 lockdown – it’s not like you have much else to do!
