A mass rider protest outside the US Embassy in London has been scheduled for March 14th 2020 in support of the late Harry Dunn’s family as they step up efforts to extradite the person suspected of causing the teenager’s death.

Dunn, 19, was killed on 27 August 2019 as he was riding his motorcycle near RAF Croughton in Northamptonshire when it collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction.

The suspected driver of the car, American citizen Anne Sacoolas, is understood to have been travelling on the wrong side of the road having apparently been confused about driving on the left-hand side, unlike the US where the law is on the right-hand.

Though Sacoolas – wife of a CIA operative stationed at the base - assisted police with its initial investigation, she invoked diplomatic immunity to return to the United States, where she continues to flee the UK legal system.

The incident has created diplomatic tensions between the UK and US after the Crown Prosecution Service revealed Sacoolas was to be charged with causing death by dangerous driving and formally requested her extradition from the United States. This, however, was turned down by the US.

As such, the parents of Harry Dunn are hoping to apply more pressure on both the UK and US governments to come to a solution that would bring Sacoolas back to the UK to face questioning.

The Justice4Harry Green Ribbon Campaign Protest Run will take place on Saturday 14th March meeting at Victoria Embankment at 1pm before setting off towards the US embassy on Nine Elms via Parliament Square, Whitehall and Vauxhall Bridge.

In a separate development, the Foreign Office has come in for criticism for not doing more to prevent accidents such as these from occurring again. Since Harry’s death, video footage has emerged of numerous incidents of cars exiting RAF bases on the wrong side of the road in near-miss accident

Dunn’s stepfather Bruce Charles accused the government of ‘turning a blind eye’ and say ministers should ‘hang their heads in shame’
