Triumph Street Triple takes centre stage in new Birds of Prey trailer

The Triumph Street Triple takes pride of place in the latest DC Comics movie blockbuster - Birds of Prey starring Margot Robbie

Birds of Prey - Triumph Street Triple

Triumph Motorcycles has certainly been no stranger towards basking in the glow of Hollywood star power and it seems Tinsel Town still just can’t get enough of the brand as it prepares to star in two of 2020’s biggest movie releases.

Indeed, Triumphs have played a starring role in high-profile movies for decades and the British firm has just announced arguably its biggest deal yet to collaborate with the James Bond franchise, including the upcoming No Time To Die film.

Hot of the heels of that, another Triumph – this time the Street Triple – is getting its name in lights as part of the obligatory spectacular car/bike/fight chase scene in the new Birds of Prey DC Comics blockbuster.

A spin-off of Suicide Squad as a standalone vehicle for the character of Harley Quinn – played by Oscar nominee Margot Robbie – the trailer gives us a couple of glimpses of the Triumph Street Triple, though it’s not clear if it’s playing the ‘goody or the baddy’.

This is just the latest in a long line of Triumphs that have played their part in films over the years, perhaps most famously The Great Escape – recreated by Guy Martin recently – even if those Triumph bikes were mocked up to look like German BMWs.

Others on the big screen include Triumph Bonneville’s in An Officer and a Gentleman and a Thunderbird 6T as piloted by Marlon Brando in The Wild Ones.

In fact, the Bonneville has become the motorcycle du jour for many films, appearing in Hannibal, X-Men, The Fast & The Furious, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
