KTM HAS just unveiled the next generation of its flagship naked bike – the 1290 Super Duke R.
The SDR’s 1,301cc twin-cylinder LC8 motor now makes 177hp courtesy of new titanium inlet valves, new combustion chambers, shortened intake funnels, a higher compression ration and cylinder head work.
That power is matched by a new look - the 1290 SDR is more aggressive and predatory than ever thanks to a new split front LED light and sharper side cowls.
The front WP fork has received a stuffer spring and sportier setup, with the WP shock in the rear getting changes to compliment.
In term of ergonomics and comfort, the 2017 Super Duke R has got a new wider, lower handlebar and riders will no doubt welcome the new TFT dash and keyless ignition
The bike’s electronics have been upgraded too and the new 1290 SDR now comes with cruise control. The optional track pack includes a two-way quick shifter, cornering ABS, lean angle sensitive traction control cornering ABS, launch control and slip adjust traction control which compensates for worn tyres on track.
