The production version of the new Aprilia RS 660 will make its public debut at the 2020 Aprilia All Stars event at Mugello in May, the manufacturer has announced.

The new middleweight sportsbike made its world premiere at the EICMA show in November but will give fans the chance to see, hear and touch the new model properly on May 9 when it hosts its annual homage to all things Aprilia at the famous Italian venue.

The inaugural event proved to be a roaring success in 2019 with owners and fans able to get a good look at the firm’s model range and get up close to its Aprilia MotoGP team as well.

Last year, Aprilia launched the ultra-exclusive Aprilia RSV4 X, a lightweight version of its flagship sportsbike that it said would be get a production of just ten… all of which were snapped up almost instantly.

For 2020, Aprilia is giving a far more accessible model centre stage with the RS 660 on show to entice potential buyers and give them a real look at what they could be getting for their money.

In addition, Aprilia will also have its MotoGP team on hand again, albeit with the new-from-the-ground-up RS-GP complete with a bold new 90-degree V4 engine. Andrea Iannone’s presence is somewhat TBC though…

There will also be a demonstration of Italian FMI Aprilia Sport Production Championship, which is being relaunched as a one-make series for youngsters using the RS 250 SP, not to mention eSports and all the accessories you could possibly need. Better still, access is free.

If you’re lucky, Aprilia may give away more information about the burgeoning new 660 line-up having already revealed it plans to unfurl the new platform across a range of body styles, including a Tuono naked due to be launched at the EICMA 2020 show.
