Suzuki has confirmed it will be bringing a new Suzuki V-Strom to the 2019 EICMA show after flashing as glimpse at a new DR Big-inspired adventure tourer in its latest teaser.
After two fairly indecipherable preview videos, Suzuki’s third ‘teaser’ is more of a reveal as it shows the machine it’ll be pulling wraps off at the Milan showpiece next week, if not any firm details of what we’re actually looking at.
Even so, the motorcycle in question is certainly a new generation 2020 Suzuki V-Strom and – as predicted by Visordown – it does appear to have taken inspiration from the DR BIG, which raised the manufacturer’s profile globally with success competing in the Dakar rally raids of the 1980s.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen the Suzuki V-Strom get a proper update so it’s possible the ‘full’ EICMA reveal is an entire range update but the motorcycle in shot appears to be a flagship a range-topper either way.
Aesthetically, the biggest changes appear up front with a new more squarer LED headlamp set up to accentuate that angular front-end – one which bears more than a passing resemblance to that which can be found on the Suzuki Katana - plus a slimmer fuel tank and a split seat set up.
What can we expect from the 2020 Suzuki V-Strom?
As for the DR BIG reference, the red and white colour scheme has all the right hues and gives us anticipation that there is something more rugged going on underneath the bodywork to provide a more focused off-road experience. Note the larger exhaust pipe and revised casing which suggests an updated motor under the skin.
A shot from the riders-eye-view reveals a new digital instrument display is also included.
It’s fleeting, but we won’t have long to wait to get the full reveal at EICMA on November 5 – Visordown will be there to bring the 2020 Suzuki V-Strom to you in its full glory.
