Harley-Davidson rider awarded huge crash settlement

A motorcyclist who was hit whilst riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle has been awarded a huge pre-trial settlement

Accident

According to psnewswire.com, defence attorney Mark Jetton [Co founder of Jetton & Meredith, PLLC] was recently awarded $4,000,000.00 in a pre-trial settlement for a client involved in a life-altering accident.

Jetton’s 29-year-old client was riding his custom Harley Davidson at around 50mph when a driver failed to yield right-of-way, hitting the rider at around 15mph after accelerating from a stop sign.

Still travelling at nearly 50mph, the motorcyclist was ejected from his bike hitting the pavement where he sustained serious injuries. The man was airlifted to hospital and required “sub-speciality” intervention for a multi-system trauma. In other words, he was in a very bad way and required the best medical care available including spinal surgery.

The client remained an in-patient for six days following the accident and requires on-going therapies and medications.

According to Jetton & Meredith PLLC, the settlement negotiations focused primarily on the client's intangible loss more than just injuries, medical expenses and lost wages. Jetton described how the newlywed man’s life - full of activities such as snowboarding and mountain biking - had been flipped upside down and had become rife with financial burdens. In the end, this resulted in a pre-trial settlement of $4 million dollars.

Hopefully, such a large settlement will help the man effected in the crash on his journey of recovery.

It cannot be confirmed, but this settlement might be the biggest motorcycle crash payout ever.

To reflect, although money helps massively, is it really ever enough is such life-changing situations?
