Suzuki GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 unchanged for 2018

No new middleweight GSX-Rs until at least 2019

SUZUKI’S GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 will not be updated for 2018, documents in the US have revealed.

Suzuki has just submitted documents to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) that show its 2018 bikes in the US are unchanged in relation to the previous bikes – meaning no new GSX-R600 or 750 in the next year.

Specifically, the CARB documents show that neither bike’s emissions have changed, which means neither model has any engine changes, dispelling hopes of new middleweight GSX-Rs any time soon, although that doesn’t rule out chassis or styling changes.

With a new GSX-R1000 landing in showrooms this year, the expectation is that Suzuki will breathe new life in to the rest of the GSX-R range by giving it a similar round of comprehensive updates but with the firm known to be working on a new turbo-engined bike and a modern Hayabusa, it looks like the mid-capacity GSX-Rs will have to wait for an update.
