Watch the KTM 790 Duke prototype in action

KTM's razor sharp 790 Duke protoype gets a thrashing

WHEN KTM unveiled its 790 Duke prototype at the Eicma show in Milan in November, it quickly became one of our favourite bikes of the show.

Now, we can finally get to see it in action thanks to this new promotional video from KTM.

Being a KTM video, it features all the good stuff – wheelies, burnout, skids, stoppies plus a thrashing on track. We're salivating at the prospect of riding this and at the direction KTM is going to take its Duke family, and what else we can expect to see from them over the next few years.

The video is the strongest indication yet that we can expect to see the twin-cylinder circa-800cc 790 Duke become a production model. We’ve got our fingers crossed for an official reveal at the end of next year - meaning availability in 2018. It's going to be a long 12 months.

KTM says the Kiska-styled 790 Duke prototype is ‘designed with unparallel poise and lightness in mind’. It’s built around a steel frame, uses prototype WP suspension and KTM tells us that it has a comprehensive suite of next-generation riding assistance including an IMU and personalised traction control.
