Been a great buy and I am more than happy with it after 3 years ownership. Cant see me selling it as it feels like it will stand up to and deliver many more years of solid performance.
Strengths
bought this bike to use for 2 up touring and days out plus occasional use instructing - its done everything i wanted. Have been over to France with it and its a really good bike to spend all day on - characterful engine, good mpg, big range from the tank and comfortable for both rider and pillion. The finish has stood up really well and it still looks great - always attracts lots of attention from both passers by and other motorcyclists who recognise that it is something a little bit different.
Have changed the bars to those from the Aprilia Shiver plus fitted Pazzo levers and Givi topbox
Weaknesses
Engine lacks a little top end poke but I didnt really buy it for outright performance. Slightly clunky gearchange at low speeds. Suspension soft as standard but plenty of adjustment available.

This is the unfaired Norge wrapped in a sexy, sport styled package. In the end, it's a much more practical and more versatile package than the Griso 1100. To own a Guzzi is to wrench on Guzzis- no different here. However, the online community is stellar. Really helpful folks who will walk you through anything. In the end, it is a very easy bike to work on and the base equipment is top notch. Itseems that the biggest problem is the unpredictable QC in the initial assembly. The engine, trans, and drive are well proven and very reliable.
Strengths
Comfortable ergos (once you add risers and or pull back bars)
generous tankage
wonderful grunty pushrod lump with excellent trans and rear drive
Very easy to work on & fairly basic mechanics overall
easily bagged and converted for sport touring
Weaknesses
Typical Italian QC on the assembly line- will require sorting
Big tank means rel top heavy and porcine in the parking lot.
expect virtually no dealer support
The dash is known to fail when exposed to pouring rain due to improper venting

It may not be everyone's first choice but I've always wanted a Guzzi. It took a little time to 'get' how the bike works but the more I ride it the more I like it. In an age of bland motorcycles the character shines through. I really love this bike!
Strengths
Not your 'run of the mill' bike. It took a couple of months to adjust to the riding style needed to really enjoy the V1200 but it was worth it. Don't think of it as a sportsbike but if you take your time it is rewarding and gives a real 'feelgood' factor. It will tour effectively and is comfortable on a longer trip, in fact it is one of the best bikes for touring I've had.
If you don't mind strangers talking to you about the bike this is the one to have (for some this may be a negative!).It attracts attention. The more I ride it the more I like it! It also manages 50mpg on a long run!
Weaknesses
The engine can be a bit 'agricultural' but with the 4 valve head it does have some top end performance.
It's heavy but this translates to being stable.
Not much else!
