Overall Review

Surprisingly fun full of character and brings out your inner angel or brat depending on your mood but dont expect a sports bike. Once you get your head around where the power is and you have hit the rev limiter in 1st gear a couple of times you will love it. its a bit like a very very well behaved large capacity single cylinder bike with a short 1st gear. Typically Honda with a nice clean finish. Never actually owned one but we had them as direct access bikes at the training school I work for and at every opportunity myself and the other instructors would jump on them ever chance we got regardless of weather. And our mod 2 test centre was 15 miles away on county roads. The horn and indicator are swapped around but once you get used to it it's do much more natural particularly using the clutch and indicator leaving tighter roundabouts. One of our friends has a NC700x and a ZZR1400 and said if he could only keep one it would be the NC

Strengths

Looks good in the flesh. So easy to ride while full of character and fun and the storage compartment is perfect without spoiling the bikes looks either. Fuel consumption is comical as it barely needs any. Slow speed control is effortless as you never have to stress the engine and the weight is carried so low resulting in a surprising party piece, this is the easiest bike I've ever carried a passenger on, easier than a pan euro. If you get a test drive sneak a mate on the back.

Weaknesses

The standard tyres can be a bit skittish in the wet if your pushing. At 60 it doesn't quite seam comfortable in 6th but wants to change up from 5th.

Overall Review

There were a lot of people complaining about the lack of power when this bike was released, but I'll blame this on having racing-biased reviewers and people who live near roads with high speed limits. Where I live, this bike will take me to speeds fast enough to lose my licence a couple of times over, while still accelerating faster than most cars on the road.

Strengths

- Low center of gravity - Storage tank - Relatively large maintenance interval - Fuel consumption is minimal, even when pushing the bike - The power is right where you want it to be in the city - It's most comfortable on the highway at speeds that are just legal enough not to get a speeding ticket - It looks good

Weaknesses

- Get me a shaft drive (I know, I know... Less power, blah blah, mostly less maintenance, which would fit this bike very well) - Suspension is cheap - The seat is not ideal - If you're looking for a racing bike, pass. It's more like a cruiser with the styling of a standard. Which also means it can turn better than the average cruiser. - The fitted tires are not ideal in the rain.
