Zero-mile Ducati 996 SPS for sale

Great investment or waste of cash?

Funny how everytime I end up browsing the classifieds I end up on something I most definitely can't afford. Case in point, this zero-mile 996 SPS.

It's been in a private collection since new and looks mint. Let's hope it's not been kept at the back of a damp garage and has been serviced and run up regularly .

Cost to you? £19,950.

You know, to be honest, they are lovely looking things, but, given that a Panigale Tricolore S is about 4K more, and a Panigale S ABS why would anyone buy one of these, particularly THIS one.

Don't get me wrong, is multo raggazi, but the Panigale is multo MULTO raggazi, and new...

Much as I like most Ducatis I'm actually more interested in all the bikes behind the 996....I spy Laverda and Bimota looks like quite a collection

The only reason you'd buy it rather than any of the other more modern hot poop is as an investment. At that point the question that has to be asked is: How much were they new and how much inflation have we had since?

I'll bet in real terms it's depreciating, so it's a very dodgy investment. If you want something gorgeous to ride, there are plenty of modern alternatives...
