The original Ducati Diavel?

A year ago it would have looked totally weird for a Ducati. Now the Diavel's out, it's less so..

Only a select number of people know how long Ducati have been working on the Diavel. Let's guess 3 years.

Funny then, that I came across this interesting Ducati custom on t'interweb yesterday. Created by Moto Frisoli Racing a Ducati Dealer in South Africa, they claimed it's the fruit of three and a half years of painstaking research and development.

They registered the domain for their website in May 2009, so it's over a year old at least. I'm not sure I like the bike, although I can appreciate the work that's gone into it. However, it does make the Diavel seem less radical, which is the first time I've thought that about Ducati's controversial new model..

What do you think to it?

I particularly like the airhorns. Very tasteful.

I SAID, I PARTICULARLY LIKE THE AIRHORNS. VERY TASTEFUL. (does shouting help?)

No but writing it twice does

I'd ride it. Only thing I might want changed is the front fender. I'd like more of a smooth contour following the arc of the wheel. Maybe get rid of the little fairing and flatten out the bars a bit. Man, I'm picky...

LOVE the airhorns though.

The belt drive bit and the swingarm look alright but I'm really struggling to find something non-piss-taking to say!

That has to be the fugliest bike I have ever seen.

Goodness. The Monster tank makes the entire bike look awkward and front heavy. Could be the homely sister of a Triumph X75 Hurricane. Underseat exhaust for a cruiser is a bit off. Don't care much for it, frankly. Appreciate the effort, though.

I agree, kylemills!

What even down to the blatant advertising link?

Still, the bike DOES have something going for it. I'd have one, just to piss the Ducati purists off.
