ONE FOR THE ADVENTUROUS: Harley-Davidson has recently launched the Western Cape Experience tour in South Africa.

The seven-night trip includes a five-day riding experience aboard the Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Limited. Harley say the 1,000-mile route couples stunning scenery with carefully selected high quality accommodation that represents the Harley-Davidson lifestyle and shows visitors some of the best experiences that the Western Cape has to offer.

Harley-Davidson UK and Ireland are offering customers a discount of £500 off the tour cost for a single rider and an additional saving of £120 of the cost of a pillion travelling with the rider. To qualify for this discount customers must book a demo ride online by visiting www.harley-davidson.co.uk. The demo ride should be taken at an authorised Harley-Davidson dealership before 28 February 2010.

Prices, including £500 rider discount, start at £1,885 for travellers making their own way to South Africa and £2,750 including flights. Pillions, with discount, can travel for £1,834 or can enjoy the package for £1,342 if they make their own travel arrangements to and from South Africa.

Riders are expected to take their own protective clothing and helmet.

Beside the helmet also take a roadlok, if you don't want to end up walking instead of riding

I have rented and rode the Western Cape on both a Harley and a BMW GS. Great experience, no hassles and the most incredible scenery one could ask for! The baboons were a bit distracting but the great SA wine at night made up for it...
