SINCE WE'VE been asking to see your bikes, we’ve been inundated with cool metal dropping into our inbox, with a few of our favourites being this 2005 GSX-R1000, a 2006 Fireblade and this pristine looking and timelessly cool Mk1 1983 Yamaha RD125 LC.
This month, however, it’s time to come much further forward in time with Richard Roberts’ BMW S1000R Sport – the naked version of BMW’s devastating S1000RR superbike, with all the options boxes ticked.
Richard, from Hampshire says, ‘It’s awesome – I can tour, got scratching and do track days on this bike. It’s comfortable, easy to ride yet can still be very quick and feel like a young pup when it's time to up the pace. But it’s no good for pillions and can buffeted by wind at higher speeds.’
We’ve never taken an S1000R touring but agree with everything else and as a package for a rider that wants fun on road and track, with daily useability, the S1000R is hard to beat, thanks in no small part to an engine that feels like it’s always got more to give.
We like your choice in aftermarket additions Richard – some nice GB Racing engine protection, R&G Racing crash bungs, a tail tidy and an Austin Racing end can. Does it sound tasty? Do we even need to ask?
