Not everyone loves Rossi

..especially not Ducati fans from Casinina

The town of Casinina is only a few miles away from Tavullia, where Valentino Rossi grew up. Judging by these T-Shirts, not everyone who's Italian or into their Ducatis loves Mr Rossi by default.

The T-shirt says: 'For the love of god, go!'.

Having spoken to a few Ducati staff over the weekend, it seems some might share the opinions of the Casinina Ducatisti..

What... do all spanish love Lorenzo and Dani, I am sure all Aussies don't love Stoner either..

Rossi bashing has just become the best time pass for Internet press.. write two lines, post a pic and you become journalist!

Off course his poor run on Ducati is not helping!

Right Nick, easy to bash Vale on the web.

The Duc is the poor runner not the Doc, no one else riding one in Moto GP is performing as well as Rossi, even Checa's is underperforming in WSBK...the natural habitat of the Ducati. perhaps Audi's injection of cash will allow them to regain former standings, but as a cynical person I tend to think the company will suffer. Ah well 'Vorsprung Durch (4 wheel)Technik'

This was completely and utterly inevitable. Some of the 'Ducatista' mob simply don't like Valentino, and didn't want him on 'their' bike.

The reality is, that bike has went backwards since '07, and it wasn't exactly forwards then, favorable conditions and an astounding rider led to an unlikely Ducati Championship. Since then, the bike has gone backwards. Regulation tyres have certainly not helped, but blaming Rossi is simply stupid.

You take a 9 time world champion, the team that took him to all 7 of the premier class titles, and then don't take them to tests and ignore input from them. The only thing Rossi being at Ducati has proved, is that even when pushed to the limit, by a Rider who has the experience to say you're wrong, Ducati are still adamant that they're right.

The term flogging a dead horse (the horse being the GP12) could not be anymore true than the Ducati GP project.

I've pointed to Preziosi being the bottleneck on many an occasion, but this comment from Rossi got me thinking;

"he is the soul of the company, and he needs to be given full faith and support."

Would that suggest Preziosi could easily make a V4, but the board simply will not give him clearance to do so?

Either way, the 'Ducatista' mob should be thanking Rossi, he's the only one that's been able to apply massive pressure to Ducati to at least give them a chance of swaying the bike into something that one once again win a GP title.

As for reminiscing about the Stoner years, he got 1st, 2nd, 4th and 4th, it's clear now that he's better than those results, so perhaps it's time to realize the bike was never really all that.

Well.said Rob M9. To see the Ducati rear ends sliding around at Assen more than the others it is obvious from the television they have a problem. For it to be that obviois on TV it must be bad. I really think the GP7 steel frame could be doing better times if they were running it at the moment. Has Ducati tested it recently I wonder.

Quite right, not everybody loves Rossi. It can't be denied that he has been an excellent rider, and he may well be again. However, the mind games he has played over the years have soured my view of the guy. Now he has less tv coverage the whole of the MotoGP scene seems to be a happier place. If only we could get some decent racing... oh, hang on though, here comes no 35 to spice things up somewhat. Go Cal!
