I remember seeing Spiritualized play a gig in Brighton about ten years ago. As soon as the band came on stage, a massive smoke cloud rose from the audience that could have rivaled anything from a Cheech & Chong film. In fact, there was so much herbal jazz being smoked around me that I needed a little lie down halfway through their epic track Cop Shoot Cop.
Back to the current day and Spiritualized have just released their latest single 'little girl'. The video features a soon-to-be very angry father along with UK stunt rider Chesca Miles.
German and Polish stunt riders also star in the video with the remaining characters sourced from in various dive and biker bars around Berlin and the outlining towns. In fact the Canadian Porn Star Cannibal, Luka Rocco Magnotta, was eventually arrested in one such dive bar hang out, and was unknowingly scouted for the video.
During the course of the three day shoot there were 2 crashes, a wrecked bike, a near-death tank rattle, 12 burnt-out tires, a broken whipped cream charger, and a near arrest after police caught producers filming a high speed tracking shot on the autobahn into Berlin at 4am.
But I'm guessing that all that carnage will not compare to what will happen if that Ducati Monster isn't returned though.
